After more than 10 years of searching for a farm to call our own, we were able to purchase one in December of 2013. What started as my husband’s childhood dream, grew into a family goal, and has now become a reality. We are finally farming and couldn’t be more excited!
We have a passion for local “real” food and sustainable agriculture. Currently, we are able to sell items “off the farm”, but we are working hard to be able to offer our pasture raised meats, poultry, and eggs at local farmer’s markets. If you are interested in any of these items, send me an email or fill out one of the pre-order forms on the website and I’ll get back to you.
My name is Katie. I’m a full-time computer analyst/programmer with a dream to be a full-time farm wife & mom. My husband, Scott, grew up working on his uncle’s dairy farm and has spent the last 7 years focusing on grain farming. He has a true passion for all things agriculture. We have four daughters ranging from teenager to toddler and one son, a.k.a. the baby brother. Managing a larger than average family can be quite interesting, so I’m going to be sharing my experiences & tips I’ve picked up along the way on the blog, in addition to happenings on the farm and updates on our family.
Our menagerie consists of beef cattle, sheep, chickens, dogs, and a rabbit. We plan on adding pigs in the near future and possibly some waterfowl. Some are pets, some are for show, and some are for providing food. ALL of them are treated humanely and with respect to their natural tendencies, diets, and instincts – no matter what their fate may be.
